Michael Snell

As a former partner of a leading national law firm Michael has more than 15 years experience in Commonwealth administrative law and litigation, acting for Commonwealth departments, statutory authorities and corporations including Department of Immigration & Citizenship, Comcare, Telstra, Australia Post, Department of Veterans' Affairs and Centrelink.

Michael advised Commonwealth bodies on regulatory issues for their compliance with licence or statutory obligations, auditing of processes and dispute management.

He also represents the interests of Commonwealth agencies and regulatory authorities on OH&S investigations, appeals and enquiries.

Michael has successfully managed politically and media sensitive matters of strategic importance to Commonwealth clients and agencies.

He acts in appellate and judicial review matters in both State and Federal jurisdictions particularly the Federal Court and High Court of Australia, as well as the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Australian Industrial Relations Commission.

Tim Denney

Tim Denney, who is the firm's General Manager, started his professional career as a Trainee Migration Consultant in Coopers & Lybrand's  Migration Division (now Fragomen Australia) in 1991. Tim was the firm's first corporate migration trainee and he completed a Bachelor of Economics degree in 1994. As the firm's first trainee, Tim was trained in all aspects of Australian migration law, completed a Certificate in Immigration Law at a distinction level and became a registered Migration Agent (No. 9683856). Tim enjoyed consistent promotion at Coopers & Lybrand and was a Senior Consultant on his departure.

Tim joined Stirling Henry Global Migration in October 1996 and is able to provide professional advice on all Australian migration matters. Tim is an expert in providing immigration services to corporate clients and currently advises many companies on their long term and short term immigration needs both domestically and internationally.

Tim is also experienced in individual based migration and is able to provide excellent service in:

Peter Snell

Peter Snell, who is the firm’s In-House Lawyer and a Registered Migration Agent, was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997 and brings to Stirling Henry Global Migration his experience of more than 10 years as a Lawyer and Advocate, most recently acting on behalf of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in a range of complex litigation.  In this capacity Peter provided advice to the Department under the Migration Act and regularly appeared for the Department in the Federal Courts.

Before joining Stirling Henry Global Migration, Peter was a Senior Associate in an Australian national law firm and acted for several of the largest employers in Australia, including top ten companies, state and federal government departments and Australia’s leading insurers.  His specialist areas of expertise are in the heavy industrial, mining and transport sectors.   However, Peter also has experience across the board.

Peter is admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales, Victoria and to the High Court of Australia, and has been registered as a Migration Agent with the Migration Agents Registration Authority.

Peter is able to provide legal assistance to corporations and individuals wishing to engage in business in Australia.  Legal advice Peter may assist with includes:

Stirling Henry

The firm's founder, Stirling Henry, is a solicitor who started his professional career as a high school teacher in Papua New Guinea. After extensive experience in educational administration and planning, and obtaining a Masters in Management from the London School of Economics, he took up a senior executive appointment as Assistant Secretary with the Australian Department of Immigration in Canberra (1981 - 1986). His responsibilities included Australian Government policy and procedures relating to overseas visitors, overseas students, temporary residents and working holiday makers. He was also Secretary of a major Australian Government Review of Overseas Student Policy.

After leaving the Government, Stirling was Price Waterhouse's Senior Migration Consultant with responsibility for running the Migration Consultancy Division from 1986 - 1990. During this time he helped to establish the Australian Migration Consultants Association (AMCA). AMCA was succeeded by the Migration Institute of Australia. The Institute is the professional body which represents the Australian migration consultancy industry and is recognised as such by the Government. Members subscribe to a code of conduct and must pass an examination in migration policy and procedures. Stirling Henry was the inaugural National President of the Migration Institute of Australia.

Alberta Miculan

Alberta Miculan is based permanently in the United States and works closely with Stirling Henry Migration Services to ensure American corporations and individuals receive outstanding service.  Alberta was formerly engaged for 15 years as a Senior Immigration Officer with the Australian Consulate in Los Angeles.  Alberta has also worked as an Immigration Officer in the Australian Embassy in Brazil and speaks English, Spanish and Italian.

Alberta is richly experienced with the Australian visa application process and how to present the paper work to precisely meet the requirements of the Department of Immigration.  Alberta is one of the very few individuals based permanently in the United States who specialises in Australian immigration law and can also assist persons seeking US visas.

Diana Hsu

Diana started her professional career as a high school teacher in Hong Kong in 1979. She continued teaching in Sydney after migrating to Australia in 1991. After about two years, Diana decided to change her career. She joined a legal firm which specialized in Immigration Law at the beginning of 1998. She commenced as a legal secretary, assisting an accredited specialist in all aspects of migration work. Diana completed a Certificate in Immigration Law with high distinction in November 1999 and became a registered migration agent in February 2000. Diana joined Stirling Henry Migration Services in May 2001. She is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Robert is a registered Migration Agent and has obtained double degrees in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws in 2005.  Robert has also completed the Graduate program in Migration Law and Practice (2007) from the Australian National University at High Distinction level.

Robert commenced his career in migration in March 2006 employed by a large corporate migration firm.  Robert received extensive training and exposure to the visa requirements of both large and small firms. 

In December 2007 Robert joined Stirling Henry Migration Services to develop his career in both corporate and individual migration.  Robert specialises in corporate migration, skilled migration and options for high net worth individuals.  

Robert strives on providing excellent service to the needs of his corporate and individual clients.
